Care Guide
Bianca Jones jewellery is made from high quality materials which are made to stand the test of time, but there are some small steps you can take to keep your pieces in the best shape possible:
- Avoid overexposing your jewellery to excessive heat, steam, chlorine, chemicals and oils. Remove your rings before washing your hands with chemical soaps or harsh cleaning products.
- Apply body lotions and perfumes and allow them to dry before putting on your jewellery.
- When you’re not wearing them, store your jewellery in a cool, dry place away from sunlight to avoid tarnishing and oxidisation.
Our Gold Vermeil pieces are Solid Sterling Silver with an 18ct Gold Plating over the top, meaning it will eventually wear away over time and tarnish like Silver, we suggest storing your Gold Vermeil pieces in an airtight box and avoid rubbing it against abrasive surfaces or fabrics to keep the Gold Plating in top condition.
Our solid Sterling Silver pieces are coated with a layer of Rhodium (a rare and expensive, silver-white metallic element that is highly reflective and resistant to corrosion and is part of the platinum group of metals. I do this for a few reasons, such as tarnish resistance - Sterling Silver is prone to tarnishing, whereas Rhodium is not. Scratch resistance—Rhodium is harder than Silver, providing a protective layer that is more resistant to scratches and wear. It’s also hypoallergenic for all those who are sensitive to metals.
