💍 How to Find Your Ring Size (Without Any Drama)
If you’ve ever tried to work out your ring size and ended up wildly guessing between an M and a P, this one’s for you. Whether you're treating yourself to something special or nudging someone in the right direction (subtle hint: engagement rings), knowing your ring size is key — and I promise, it doesn’t have to be complicated.
Let’s take the guesswork out of it. Here's how to find your ring size at home, what to look out for, and a few tricks I’ve picked up over the years of making rings for people who didn’t know their size until the day it arrived. (Spoiler: it still fit.)
📏 The Easiest Way to Measure Your Ring Size at Home
-
Order a ring sizer
I offer a reusable ring sizer that can be popped in the post and used again and again — perfect if you’re unsure or buying for someone else and want to keep it hush-hush. You can request one here, or download my printable ring size chart if you’re in a rush. -
Use a ring you already wear
Grab a ring that fits the intended finger and measure its inside diameter. Then, check against a UK ring size chart. A little fiddly? Yes. But accurate? Absolutely. -
Try the string method (in a pinch)
Wrap a piece of string or paper around the base of your finger, mark where it overlaps, and measure the length. Then compare it to a size chart. Not quite as precise — but good if you’re ballparking.
💡 Bianca’s Ring Sizing Tips (aka: what they don’t tell you)
-
Your fingers change size throughout the day. Warm hands? Bigger size. Cold hands? Smaller. Aim to measure at room temperature, ideally in the evening.
-
Different ring styles feel different. A slim band will feel looser than a wide one. If you’re ordering a chunky signet ring, you might want to size up slightly.
-
Hands aren’t twins. Your dominant hand is usually a touch larger. If you're switching ring fingers, double-check.
-
If in doubt, go up a size. It’s much easier to resize down than magically stretch gold.
🖐 Still Not Sure?
Honestly, if you’re not 100% sure — don’t stress. I’d much rather you get in touch so we can figure it out together than end up with a ring that lives in a drawer. You can always drop me a message or email, and I’ll help however I can. I’ve had years of guessing ring sizes from afar — sometimes I even get it right.
